Checking the steering wheel angle

• Ignition off
• Disconnect the connector for the control module for the steering wheel angle sensor
• Disconnect the connector for the steering wheel module (SWM)
• Check the connectors for control module for the steering wheel angle sensor and for the steering wheel angle sensor. Check for Contact resistance and oxidation
• Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
• Ignition on
• Read off the steering wheel angle.

  Turn the steering wheel between both limit positions. Check that the steering wheel angle is updated and reaches a maximum of +600° or -600°.

Was the angle in excess of 600° in either direction? 

• YES 

  Refer to Checking the installation 

• NO 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.
