Checking the signal

• Ignition off
• Check the control module for the steering wheel angle sensor and the steering wheel module (SWM) connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation
• Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
• Ignition on
• Turn the steering wheel to the limit position in both directions
• Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

  If the status of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is intermittent, the problem was probably caused by contact resistance or oxidation in one of the connectors for the control modules.

Is the status of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) intermittent? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Checking wiring and sensors
