Maintenance Service Reminder Reset - Procedure 16

NOTE: Resetting of the service reminder indicator (SRI) can be performed using VIDA (OEM scan tool) or directly in the vehicle. If using VIDA, reset is found via: VIDA > Diagnostics > Service functions > Diagnostic Sequences > Reset the service reminder indicator (SRI).
NOTE: Service reminder light (if equipped) will come on at 5000 or 10, 000 mile intervals to indicate oil and filter change is scheduled. After changing oil and filter, reset mileage counter.

To manually reset the service reminder indicator (SRI) carry out the following procedure:

  1. Set the vehicle in usage mode "Convenience" by quickly turning the start knob to START, without pressing any pedals at the same time.
  2. Press the button for decreasing the cruise control speed (-) on the steering wheel left key pad and keep it pressed.
  3. Set the vehicle in usage mode "Driving" by turning on the engine.
  4. When the cruise control button has been pressed for 10 seconds the information symbol in the combined instrument display starts to flash.
  5. Release the cruise control button 1-4 seconds after the information symbol has started flashing. This will reset the service reminder indicator (SRI) and as an acknowledgement of this a message is shown in the combined instrument display at the same time as the reminder message is switched off.
NOTE:

Another higher priority message can be shown instead of the acknowledgement message. Navigate among the message queue to find it.
