Checking the component

NOTE:

This check only applies to chassis number 1-116810.

Interference from the upper electronic module can take the form of a "helicopter-like sound" in the audio system. This is due to a long ground lead which in some cases can act as an antenna.

The problem can be remedied by replacing the older type of front interior lighting with a new type of front interior lighting with a ground lead (1) as illustrated.

NOTE:

When installing ensure that the ground lead is not clamped between the clips and the roof. See the markings in the illustration.

Remedy as necessary.
