Diagnostic Procedure
NOTE:
The role of the combined instrument panel is to carry out and overall check of the communication network and indicate the fault via a number of DTCs. In the event of communication problems the fault may exist in another part of the communications network.
- Connect a scan tool and turn ignition ON. Read out DTCs in the combined instrument panel. Check for DTCs on communication network. Diagnose each DTC as necessary. When diagnosis is complete, read out fault memory again. If ECM-902A remains and no other DTC's are present, go to next step.
- ECM has registered a fault in throttle unit. Replace with a known good unit. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - EXCEPT S40 & V40 article.
- Read out fault memory again after repair is complete. If DTC is no longer present, repair is complete.
