Diagnostic Procedure

NOTE: The role of the combined instrument panel is the overall control of the communication network and a number of DTCs which indicate the fault. In the event of communication problems the fault may exist in another part of the communications network
  1. Turn ignition on. Read off DTCs from the combined instrument panel. If there are DTCs stored in the combined instrument panel, fault trace accordingly.
  2. If there are no combined instrument panel DTCs stored, ECM has registered an internal fault. Replace with a known good unit. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - EXCEPT S40 & V40 article.
