Drainage Of Fuel System

  1. Remove throttle pulley cover shield over valve on fuel distribution manifold. See Fig 1. Connect adapter (999 5484) to Fuel Drainage Unit (981 2270, 2273 and 2282). See Fig 2. Connect adapter to valve on fuel distribution manifold. Ensure adapter is in locked position.
  2. On S80 models, remove the cover on the valve cap positioned at the fuel filter. Connect Venting Hose (999 5480) to the valve prior to the fuel filter.
  3. On all models, start fuel drainage unit. Unlock adapter. Jack up car. Drain fuel system. Remove fuel filter valve cap. Connect Vent Hose (999 5480) to valve before fuel filter. Drainage of system takes about 2 minutes.
  4. Install components in reverse order. Remember to refit valve caps.
