Fault Conditions

Control modules communicate with each other in a network via a standardized serial communication method - Controller Area Network(CAN). Electronic throttle module has registered a fault in communication on CAN network. CAN signal from ECM is missing or not updated. ECM-912A is stored in ECM.

No substitute values are used but some systems are disabled. Accelerator pedal is ignored when braking. Cruise control cannot be activated. RPM is limited using fuel shut off. Maximum permitted engine speed depends on accelerator pedal position. Throttle unit follows pulse width modulation accelerator pedal signal directly and control signal via CAN is ignored.

ETS warning lamp lights while ECM-911A is set. DTC can also cause uneven idle, jerking during engine braking and very poor throttle response.
