Diagnostic Procedure

CAUTION: Always check that the TCM and TCM connector pins and sleeves are not bent or damaged BEFORE replacing TCM. This may have caused the fault.
  1. This DTC may be caused by an open circuit in the CAN wiring. BEFORE replacing transmission control module, check for open or short circuit in CAN wiring between ECM and TCM. See Fig 1.

  2. ECM has registered an internal fault in transmission control module. Replace transmission control module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - EXCEPT S40 & V40 article.
