Replacing the Windshield Wiper Shaft And/Or the Link Rod

• Remove the wiper arms, see Removing Windshield Wiper Arms .
• Remove the cover, 7x screws.
• Remove the panel.

• Release the control mechanism (press off the drive mechanism ball with a large screwdriver).
• Remove the mounting nuts (x6) from the windscreen wiper shafts.
• Remove the assembly. Replace the control arms and/or shafts.
• Grease the ball joints (grease P/N 1161037-5).
• Install the assembly. Tighten the nut to 10 Nm.

HINT: Ensure that the turn points under the shafts are correctly located. 

• Install the panel (7x mounting screws).
• Install the wiper arm, see Installing windshield wiper arms .
• Check the function.
