RESUME Switch Check (Response Code 123)

Response Code 123 is obtained when cruise control RESUME button is depressed. If code is obtained, go to SET+ Switch Check (Response Code 131) . If code cannot be obtained, check for other response codes. If Code 113, 131 or 213 is present, go to step 3. If Codes 113, 131 or 213 are not present, go to next step.
Check cruise control fuse No. 19 located in fuse box on left side of instrument panel. Replace as necessary. If fuse is okay, remove upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect cruise control switch connector. Turn ignition on. Connect voltmeter between cruise control switch connector terminal No. 2 and ground. See Figure. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring between fuse box and cruise control switch. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
Connect cruise control switch connector, if disconnected. Connect voltmeter (backprobe) between cruise control switch connector terminal No. 3 and ground. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Press cruise control main switch to RESUME position. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check cruise control main switch connector terminal contact. If terminal contact is okay, replace cruise control switch.
Turn ignition off. Remove cruise control unit. Connect voltmeter between ground and cruise control unit base terminal 6E. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Zero volts should be present without cruise control main switch in RESUME position. Battery voltage should be present with cruise control main switch in RESUME position. If voltage is as described, check cruise control unit connector terminal contact. If terminal contact is okay, replace cruise control unit. If voltage is not as described, repair wiring between cruise control switch and cruise control unit base terminal 6E. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
