SERVICE INFORMATION

The Volvo System Tester (VST) communicates with most of the vehicle's control modules by serial communication. When establishing communication with a vehicle using the VST, it is necessary to enter the vehicle's engine management system. If the incorrect engine management system is entered, the VST will read "COMMUNICATION FAILURE". When that occurs, to re-enter the system it is necessary to recycle the ignition system and the VST.
