Removal & Installation

  1. Fuel pressure regulator on all-wheel drive models is located on top of fuel tank. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK .
  2. Remove the 3 rubber mats covering the fuel lines on the fuel tank. Disconnect the vacuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator. See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect the reference air hose from the mountings on the fuel tank and fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the fuel line from the left-hand side of the fuel filter. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump (on left-hand side of fuel tank). Use Fuel Line Wrench (999 5666). See Fig 2.

  4. Disconnect the fuel line from the subframe. Disconnect the fuel line from the mounting on the fuel tank. Remove the fuel pressure regulator and fuel lines.
  5. Fit the fuel pressure regulator and fuel lines. Attach the fuel line to the left-hand side of the fuel filter. Attach the fuel line to the fuel pump (on left-hand side of fuel tank). Attach the fuel line to the subframe.
  6. Attach the fuel line to the mountings on the fuel tank. Secure the fuel pressure regulator with the bolts. Attach the reference air hose of the fuel pressure regulator. Attach the reference air hose to the mountings on the fuel tank and fuel pressure regulator. Fit the 3 rubber mats covering the fuel lines on the fuel tank.
  7. Install fuel tank.
