Pre-delivery service

Corrective action: Note:
Remove the following components:  
- brake disc shield, spring spacer and "tie-down" hooks. "Tie-down" hooks must be returned to Volvo according to standard procedures.
- "rapgard"-protective film for the paintwork. The protective film must not be left on the bodywork for more than four months. See the date stamp.
-transport protection Applies to seats, panels, doors and gear shift selector etc.
Ensure that the seat compartments, door compartments, glove compartment and center console compartments etc. are empty.
This check also applies to the cargo compartment.
Install:  
-components delivered with the car.
-fuses delivered with the car.
Wheel covers, spoiler, auxiliary lamps, front towing eyelet cover etc.
Set the cargo compartment lighting switch to automatic.
CD-magazine for the CD-player or RTI. Relevant market.
Connect the car battery. See: Storage maintenance
Adjust the radio for the market.
Set the clock to the correct time.  
Reset the service reminder indicator (SRI). See: Resetting Service reminder indicator (SRI)
Check:  
-the air pressure in tires. Always adjust the air pressure if necessary.
If the car is left standing for a long time the tires may deform. This deformation disappears when the car has been driven for a while.
Remember to drive slowly until tire deformation disappears.

-that no text and address labels remain on the windows.  
-the paintwork finish on the car. Report all damage.
Repair any damage.
-the SRS system warning decals. Statutory requirement for the relevant market.
Remarks:  
If the windshield is very dirty it must be cleaned before the windshield wipers are used. The wipers will scratch a dirty windshield if they are used when the windshield is dry.
Clean the car. Use car shampoo.
Also clean the windows internally if necessary. Remove any tape that remains.
Apply decals to the rear lower corner of the front side window.
Wipe the steering wheel and gear selector lever clean.
The customer should be able to see that he/she has taken delivery of a quality car from Volvo.
Check that the driver's area and the rest of the interior is clean and spotless.
Check that the cargo compartment contains the spare wheel, tools, warning triangle etc.
Questionnaire:
-fill in any questionnaires. If the car comes with a questionnaire fill it in and return it to Volvo.
