Removing cover
- Remove glove compartment holders.
- Remove the six screws holding the glove compartment and remove the glove compartment.
- If a passenger-side airbag is fitted, remove the 4 mounting screws from the underneath of the module.
- Remove cover washers and screws to side defroster vents.
- Remove panel vents as follows: turn down and pull out or pry off gently with a screwdriver at the side and pull out. Remove both vent and air duct on RH side.
- Remove speaker grills on both sides.
- Remove speakers. Push plastic plugs down in center.
- Undo connector.
- Unscrew the 12 mounting screws holding the cover panel. Cars fitted with passenger-side airbags have a screw missing at the top of the glove compartment. Cars not fitted with passenger-side airbags have a screw missing at the top by the RH speaker (marked 2 in figure).
- Lift cover panel off carefully.
Once you have removed the cover panel, you can connect the test box and use it for fault-tracing with the dashboard.
