Test Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. On 2.3L engines, connect an ohmmeter between ECU terminal No. 12 and No. 22 in turn to ground. Ohmmeter should indicate infinity. If ohmmeter indicates continuity, check circuit wiring for shorts to ground.
  2. On 2.8L engines, remove connector to ignition system control unit located on left side of pedals. Measure resistance between ECU terminal No. 22 and ground. Ohmmeter should indicate infinity.
