Brake Master Cylinder
Master cylinder on ABS equipped vehicles, in contrast to non-equipped models, uses a split front and rear hydraulic system. Rear piston in master cylinder supplies brake pressure to front brakes and front piston supplies pressure for rear brakes. Fluid is pressurized in master cylinder and routed to hydraulic modulator in rear of vehicle. Under normal braking or a failure condition, fluid pressure and flow are controlled solely by master cylinder.
