Throttle Switch

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect an ohmmeter between ground and terminal 3. Depress the accelerator pedal. Meter should show 0 ohms in idle position and infinite resistance in other positions.
  2. Connect ohmmeter between ground and terminal 12. Depress accelerator pedal. Meter should read 0 ohms in full throttle position and infinite resistance in other positions.
  3. If any readings are incorrect, check throttle valve switch ground at intake manifold. If ground connection is correct, replace throttle valve switch.
