Injector Circuits

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1984 Volvo 245, 1984 Volvo 244, 1984 Volvo 242, 1983 Volvo 245, and 1983 Volvo 244. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect an ohmmeter between pump relay terminal 87 and ECU terminal 13. Correct resistance should be approximately 4 ohms.
  2. If meter shows approximately 5.3 ohms, either an injector or injector wire is defective. If meter reads approximately 8 ohms, 2 injectors or injector wires are defective. If meter shows 16 ohms, 3 injectors or injector wires are defective.
  3. Injectors may be tested separately. Each injector should have a resistance of 16 ohms.
  4. If the injectors or injector wires are defective, then remove the injector connectors and check each separately. The resistance for each injector should be 16 ohms.
