Engine Oiling System: Notes

Volvo uses a force feed lubricating system. Pressure is supplied by a gear driven pump. Pump is driven by camshaft and located under crankshaft in oil pan. Oil pump forces oil past the relief valve, which is fitted on the pump, through an oil filter. Next oil is forced into oil passages and finally to lubricating points.
