Bevel Box, Installing: Installing

-- Lightly grease the flange shaft splines using lubricating grease for clutch plate splines.

Grease for clutch plate shaft splines. Refer to Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the bevel box by tilting.

- Attach the bevel box carefully by hand.

- Do not pull the bevel box against the transmission with the bolts.

-- Position the bevel box and attach, for this, turn the flange shaft.

-- Tighten the bolts of the bevel box.

-- Install the bolts -1- and -2-.

-- Install the bolts -1-.

-- Position a commercially available tire iron -A- in between the bolts -1-, to counterhold the flange shaft.

-- Tighten the bolt -2-.

-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Install the right drive axle. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the front exhaust pipe with the catalytic converter. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, FWD , or CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AWD .

-- Install the subframe with the steering gear. Refer to SUBFRAME WITH STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Refer to Gear Oil Level, Checking .
