Shift Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:

If the selector mechanism is replaced:

When delivered, the handle for the emergency release -1- is attached and locked.

-- Remove the handle for the emergency release -1- -arrow A- and connect the bottom in the position shown -arrow B-.

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Align the shift housing so that it is parallel to the body.

-- Position the nuts -arrows- and tighten the selector mechanism.

-- Install the front center console bracket. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Press the selector lever cable -1- on the transmission jack on the transmission.

-- Install the cable bracket -2- to the transmission using the bolts -arrows-.

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Install the tunnel heat shield under the selector mechanism. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .
