ATF, Draining And Filling: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit :SMN372500

Draining

• The engine is off.

Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit :SMN372500  under the transmission near the ATF drain plug.

-- Remove the ATF drain plug -arrow- from the transmission -1-.

-- Allow the ATF to drain completely.

-- Screw the ATF drain plug back in with a new seal to the tightening specification!

Filling

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the transmission.

-- Remove the ATF fill plug -arrow- from the transmission -1-.

-- Add 3.4 liters ATF SP-IV M1.

• Make sure that no dust or foreign objects can enter the fill hole.

-- Attach the connector -1- to the transmission.

-- Check the ATF level. Refer to ATF LEVEL, CHECKING .
