Overview - Ignition System

  1. Spark Plug
    • Tightening specification: 22 Nm
    • Remove and install with Spark Plug Removal Tool: 3122B 
    • Replacement interval. Refer to MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES or to the appropriate service information .
  2. Spark Plug Connectors
    • Ignition coils and spark plug connectors can be obtained individually for repairs. Refer to Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).
  3. Ignition Coil
    • Ignition Coil 1 with Power Output Stage -N70-
    • Ignition Coil 2 with Power Output Stage -N127-
    • Ignition Coil 3 with Power Output Stage -N291-
    • Ignition Coil 4 with Power Output Stage -N292-
  4. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
  5. Shear bolt
  6. Exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor -G1003-
    NOTE:

    The exhaust camshaft position sensor cannot be replaced at this time.

    If faulty, replace the camshaft housing.

  7. O-Ring
    • Check for damage and replace if necessary.
  8. Shear bolt
  9. Intake Camshaft Position Sensor -G1002-
    NOTE:

    The intake camshaft position sensor cannot be replaced at this time.

    If faulty, replace the camshaft housing.

  10. O-Ring
    • Check for damage and replace if necessary.
  11. Transmission Side Sealing Flange
  12. Sensor Wheel
    • For the Engine Speed Sensor -G28-
    • Unit with sealing flange on the transmission side
  13. Plug
  14. Bolt
    • 4.5 Nm
  15. Engine Speed Sensor -G28-
  16. Bolt
    • 20 Nm
    • The tightening specifications affect function of the knock sensor
  17. Knock Sensor 1 -G61-
