Overview - Shift Mechanism

NOTE:

Lubricate the bearing areas and the sliding surfaces.

Refer to the Parts Information for the grease allocation.

  1. Gearshift Shaft with Gearshift Cover
  2. Slide Block
  3. Relay Lever
    • Refer to the Parts Information for the allocation.
    • Installation position. Refer to Figure.
    • After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
    • Relay Lever and Cable Retainer, Removing and installing. Refer to Figure.
  4. Cable Retainer
    • For attaching the selector cable to the relay lever
    • After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
    • Do not interchange, cable retainers for selector cable on relay lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
    • Allocation. Refer to Figure.
    • Remove from the relay lever. Refer to Figure.
    • Press onto the relay lever. Refer to Figure.
  5. Cable Retainer
    • For attaching the shift cable to the selector lever
    • After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
    • Do not interchange, cable retainers for selector cable on relay lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
    • Allocation. Refer to Figure.
  6. Lock Washer
    • Replace after removing
  7. Lock Washer
    • Replace after removing
    • Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them

  10. Shifter Housing
  11. Seal
    • Replace after removing the gearshift housing
    • Between the selector housing and the underbody
    • Self-adhesive
    • Affix to the selector housing
  12. Cable Bracket
  13. Hex Bolt
    • 20 Nm
    • For the cable bracket
    • Quantity: 3
  14. Grommet
    • Cable bracket mounting to transmission
    • Quantity: 3
  15. Spacer
    • Quantity: 3
  16. Nut
  17. Shift Lever
    • Insert so that staggered tooth pattern aligns with gearshift shaft. Refer to Figure.
    • Installation position. Refer to Figure.
    • After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .

  19. Clip
