Selector Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
Do not lubricate the selector lever cable.
-- Push the selector lever cable carefully onto the selector lever and insert it into the cable bracket.
-- Install the heat shield under the selector mechanism. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL .
-- Install the exhaust system and align it free of tension. Refer to EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) DDSB, DDSA] or EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) CVCA] or EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) CVCA] or EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) CPRA, CPKA] .
- If equipped, install the rear center console air duct vent. Refer to 87 AIR CONDITIONING AIR ROUTING .
-- Install the ashtray and center console cover for the selector mechanism. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE .
-- Install the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .
-- Install the engine cover and the air filter. Refer to AIR FILTER [For engine(s) DDSB, DDSA] or AIR FILTER [For engine(s) CDVB] or AIR FILTER [For engine(s) CPRA, CPKA] .
