Engine Number

NOTE:

The engine number can only be seen if the front engine cover is removed.

The engine number ("engine code" and "serial number") is located at front on cylinder block, below the right cylinder head -arrow-.

There is also a label attached on the right timing chain cover with the "engine code" and "serial number".

The first three digits describe the mechanical structure of the engine and are still stamped on the engine. The fourth letter describes the engine torque and output and depends on the engine control module. Four-digit engine codes are found on the type label and vehicle data label. It can also be read via the engine control module.
