Service interval 2005

The sequence of the individual service positions has been tested and optimized. Therefore they should be adhered to, to prevent unnecessary work interruptions.

NOTE:
  • Inform the customer of the repair measures required if a problem is detected during service work.
NOTE:
  • Ask customer whether new wiper blades should be fitted and if they require Windshield Clear G 052 164  (cleaner and freeze protection) in the windshield washer system.
  • Engine compartment cover (noise insulation tray), removing and installing → Lower engine cover (noise insulation): Removing and installing .

Work to be completed Example
  • Engine oil: Drain or extract * See footnote , replace oil filter
Engine oil: Draining or extracting; changing oil filter and filling engine oil 
  • Checking battery and auxiliary battery (left and right in luggage compartment) with Battery Tester With Printer VAS 5097A (follow repair information) * See footnote
Batteries: Check 
  • Vehicle system test: Perform

  • Spare wheel: Check condition, wear pattern, tread depth _______ mm
Checking tires: Tire condition, wear pattern, inflation pressure, and tread depth 
  • Left front tire: Check condition, wear pattern, tread depth _______ mm
Checking tires: Tire condition, wear pattern, inflation pressure, and tread depth 
  • Left rear tire: Check condition, wear pattern, tread depth _______ mm
Checking tires: Tire condition, wear pattern, inflation pressure, and tread depth 
  • Right rear tire: Check condition, wear pattern, tread depth _______ mm
Checking tires: Tire condition, wear pattern, inflation pressure, and tread depth 
  • Right front tire: Check condition, wear pattern, tread depth _______ mm
Checking tires: Tire condition, wear pattern, inflation pressure, and tread depth 
  • Tire pressure in all 4 tires and spare tire: Check, correct if necessary
Tire inflation pressure (including spare wheel): Checking, correcting inflation pressures using Tire filler unit VAS 5216 if necessary → Tire pressure with tire pressure control system: Check 
  • Store changed tire pressure values in Radio/Navigation Display
Changed tire pressure values: Storing in Radio/Navigation Display 
    NOTE: Tire repair kit: Check expiration date on tire inflation cylinder and
  • if present
Tire repair kit: Checking 
  • Checking thickness of front and rear brake pads
Front and rear brake linings: Thickness, checking 
  • Rear lid: lubricate left and right multi-joint hinge
Rear lid: lubricate left and right multi-joint hinge 
  • Lubricate sunroof seal
Sunroof: Checking function, cleaning and lubricating guide rails 
  • Wiper blades: Check for damage and resting position
Windshield wiper blades: Check park position, adjust if necessary 
  • Engine oil: Check; note oil specification!
Service tables 
  • Service interval display: Reset
Service interval display: Reset 
  • Service sticker "Next service" : Indicate next service event and apply sticker to drivers side door jamb (B-pillar) - service intervals

*Extracting engine oil is not permitted on V8 engine and W12 engine.
