Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data

Function 

This diagnostic mode performs the following functions:

• all emission relevant malfunctions in DTC memory will be erased,
• the operating conditions at which a malfunction was stored will be reset. Refer to Diagnostic mode 2: Check operating conditions 
• all adaptation values will be reset,
• all test results of the diagnostic functions will be reset.

Requirement 

• DTC memory was checked. Refer to Diagnostic mode 3: Check DTC Memory 

Work procedure 

• Connect diagnostic tester. Refer to Diagnostic tester, connecting 
• Start engine and let run at idle.
• Under address word 33, select "Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.

Erased or reset:

• Number and content of the DTC memories,
• Operating conditions,
• Adaptation values,
• Test results.

• End diagnosis and switch ignition off.
• Generate readiness code. Refer to Readiness code, generating
