Repair Instructions: Transmission

When an automatic transmission is exchanged, the VW ATF in the planetary transmission and the gear oil in the final drive must be checked and topped off as necessary. See SERVICING - A/T (01P) article.

For transmission repairs, an exchange component is available for the shift elements, which is often more cost effective. See Fig 1 .

When installing transmission, ensure that the dowel sleeves are fitted correctly.
