Fuse/Relay Panel, Removing And Installing
CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
- After reconnecting battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Manual and/or Owner's Manual.
NOTE:
Fuse/relay panel is located behind cover on driver's side storage.
Turn locking knob (arrow) counterclockwise. See Fig 1 . Open cover, and unhook from instrument panel trim.
Release retainers on right and lower left of cover for multi-fuse adapter -3- and pull out of retainers into passenger compartment.
NOTE:
To remove fuse/relay panel -2- it usually is not necessary to remove reinforcement -1-, however it improves access. See Fig 2
.
Remove reinforcement -1-. See Fig 2 .
Release securing clips -1- from pins -2- on left and right of fuse/relay panel and swing upwards. See Fig 3 .
Push left retainer outwards until rotary catch has been pulled out of hole in retaining plate.
Unhook fuse/relay panel from retainers -3-. See Fig 3 .
When installing, the fuse/relay panel rotating catch must engage in the retainer. The securing clips must be located on the pins.
