Code Control Module (function 07): Notes

The ABS control module -J104- installed in the vehicle is coded. New control modules for vehicles with ASR from the parts distribution center are uncoded and must be coded after being installed.

Coding is only possible if a dealership number is stored in the VAG1551 scan tool.

Test sequence 

• Connect VAG1551 scan tool and select the control module for brake electronics with ignition switched on (address word 03); see VAG1551 SCAN TOOL (ST), CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .
• Read control module version on the display of the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST).
• Press --> button

• Press buttons -0- and -7- to select "Code Control Module" function 07 and press -Q- button to confirm input.

• Press -Q- button to confirm input.

• Enter the appropriate code number and press -Q- button to confirm input.

  Display will indicate the control module identification and the coding entered (e.g. 00003).

• Press --> button

• Perform a road test. Drive for 30 seconds at above 60 km/h.
