Preliminary Checks

Before checking and adjusting wheel alignment, please note the following.

• Correct calibration of measuring equipment
• Correct tire pressure (see label on vehicle)
• Only perform vehicle alignment after the vehicle has been driven 1000 to 2000 km (600 to 1200 miles) to ensure the suspension has settled completely.
• Vehicle accurately aligned, suspension bounced and rocked several times
• Suspension, steering and steering linkage checked for excessive play and damage.
• The actual loaded condition at time of measuring is relative when determining the specifications (empty, 1/2 load, full load).
• If the vehicle alignment stand is approached at an acute angle, then move the vehicle backward and forward several times to relieve possible stress in the bonded rubber mountings.
• When adjusting, aim as closely as possible to the respective specified value.
• Vehicle height (ride height) and vehicle longitudinal inclination affect test values. For this reason, measure vehicle height and longitudinal inclination, and adjust vehicle height if necessary before performing check/adjustments.
