DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW PROBLEMS

YEAR(S): 1990

MANUFACTURER: VW

MODEL(S): Cabriolet

DATE OF ISSUE: October 1998

ISSUE & TIP

1990 and later Volkswagen Cabriolets seem to have more than their fair share of driver's side power window problems. Volkswagen uses a heavy gauge wire between the body and the door for the power window circuit that has very little flexibility. The poor wire flexibility causes connection problems at both the power window switch and the window motor, especially inside the driver's door.
