Front Seat Belt Buckle Removal And Installation/Replacement

Only appropriately trained persons may carry out work on pyrotechnic components or the Airbag Control Unit.
Perform SRS disabling procedure prior to commencing work.
When replacing components of the SRS system, never install used or non-genuine components.
Pyrotechnic Components must be handled and scrapped appropriately.

Removal Procedure:

The procedure for the left-hand component is identical to that for the right-hand side.

There is potential for inadvertent deployment of SRS systems during repairs if the system has not been properly disabled. Refer to SRS DISABLING AND ENABLING
NOTE: Ensure the 2-minute wait time has been observed before proceeding to next step.
Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Remove front seat cushion inner trim panel. Refer to FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER TRIM PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

Unlock and disconnect electrical connector (1).
Unclip cable support (2).

Unclip cable support (1).
Remove and discard the torque prevailing bolt (2).
Replace with new only.

Torque: 45 Nm
Remove front seat belt buckle (3).

Installation note: Ensure that the lug (1) is in correct position!

NOTE: Safety-relevant procedure step
Failure to discard the specified component(s) may cause damage to the vehicle or vehicle components.

Fasteners highlighted as torque prevailing must be discarded and not re-used.
Replace with new bolt only.

Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.
All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification!
Install front seat cushion inner trim panel. Refer to FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER TRIM PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
Install the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
