Front End Lower Tie Bar Removal And Installation/Replacement

- All lifting equipment weight rating must meet or exceed the weight of the vehicle and any contents
- The lifting equipment must be in good condition and approved for use
- Only lift the vehicle from the identified lift points
- Ensure vehicle is stable before performing any work underneath
- Ensure there are no loose components which may fall
- Always use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Seek assistance when handling larger components

- Secure the component against uncontrolled movement.
- Always use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ensure vehicle is correctly disabled/powered down to prevent unexpected motion or activation of components.
Removal Procedure:
- Disconnect the 12V battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
- Remove front bumper fascia skid plate. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA SKID PLATE REPLACEMENT
- Remove front tire. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- Remove front bumper fascia. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Remove front wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Remove front bumper side energy absorbers. Refer to FRONT BUMPER SIDE ENERGY ABSORBERS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Secure the cooler package against falling down and remove 2 bolts (1).
Torque: 5 Nm
- Remove front crash support bracket. Refer to FRONT CRASH SUPPORT BRACKET REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Remove 2 bolts (2).
Torque: 35 Nm
- Remove the bolt (3).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Remove 2 bolts (4) and remove the reinforcement (1).
Torque: 55 Nm
- Remove 2 bolts attaching to the coolant 3-way bypass valve bracket (1).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Remove the bolt (1).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Remove the bolt (1) and unclip sensor (2).
Torque: 9 Nm
- Remove the bolt (3).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Remove the bolt (1).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Remove 2 bolts (2) from attachment bracket (3) on both sides.
Torque: 74.5 Nm
- Remove the front end lower tie bar assembly (1) downwards.
Replacement Procedure:
- Remove both left and right radiator brackets (1).
Torque: 8 Nm
Installation Procedure:
- Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.
All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification!
- Install front bumper side energy absorbers. Refer to FRONT BUMPER SIDE ENERGY ABSORBERS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Install front wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Install front tire. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- Install front bumper fascia. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Install front bumper fascia skid plate. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA SKID PLATE REPLACEMENT
- Connect the 12V battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
- Front Mid Range Radar Calibration. Refer to FRONT MID RANGE RADAR CALIBRATION
