12V Battery Current Sensor Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  Van/Car

Overview: 

NOTE: Damage
Failure to follow specified procedures may result in damage to the vehicle's electrical system.
  • Read Warnings and Instructions before disconnecting the battery.
  • Refer to DANGER AND WARNINGS

Removal Procedure: 

Only loosen, do not remove, the battery sensor nut before disconnecting the 12V Battery negative terminal.

  1. Remove maintenance cap (1).

  2. Only loosen nut (1) from the battery sensor, do not remove.

    Torque: 11 Nm

  3. Only loosen nut (1), do not remove it.

    Torque: 6 Nm

  4. Pull off the battery negative cable (1) from the battery negative terminal by carefully moving it to and fro. Do not pry using a tool.
  5. Move the battery negative cable (1) to one side and secure.

  6. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the battery sensor.

  7. Remove the nut (1) with which the battery sensor is attached.
  8. Pull up and remove the battery sensor (2).

Installation Procedure: 

Installation note: Always observe the following installation order. 

  1. Only fasten, do not torque tighten, the battery sensor nut to the 12V battery negative terminal.
  2. Reconnect electrical connector to battery sensor.
  3. Reconnect the 12V battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION 
  4. Tighten nut from battery sensor on battery negative cable.

    Torque: 11 Nm 

  5. High voltage needs to be turned ON & vehicle to be left idle with HV ON for at least 12 minutes for Active Charge Recalibration of Battery Sensor.
  6. Diagnostics, Programming and Setup. Refer to DIAGNOSTICS, PROGRAMMING AND SETUP USING SCAN TOOL IN SERVICE
