Pollution and Cleaning

Dirt on and cracks in the windscreen may affect the performance of the camera or of further ADAS functions. If the windscreen is replaced, the system requires subsequent re-calibration. A trained VinFast technician for optimal function of ADAS must perform the re-calibration process.

In order for the advanced driver's assistance systems (ADAS) to function properly, the camera must be kept free of dirt, mud, ice, snow, etc. and should be washed regularly with water and car washing detergent. Dirt, mud snow, etc. obstructing the camera can cause limited functionality of advanced driver's assistance system (ADAS), can be disabled temporarily, or can show false warnings.

If obstructed, a driver assistance warning message will appear on the instrument panel cluster identifying that a camera is blocked.

Cleaning:

Clear of dirt and grime buildup by wiping the components with a soft cloth and lukewarm water or by spraying water. The advanced driver assistance systems will function normally after cleaning. If the warning message persists after cleaning or rectify the concern, the system may be faulty.

Do not clean sensors or cameras with abrasive objects or cleaners that may damage its surface and can lead to reduced functionality. Do not attempt to remove dirt, grime, debris, etc. by wiping an exposed lens with your hands or a cloth. The lens can be damaged by debris rubbing against the lens surface while wiping. Avoid aiming a high-pressure washer directly a the sensors or cameras, while washing the vehicle. Do not install or apply objects such as a sticker, film or a guard in the near of the camera.
