Main Fuse: Installation: Procedure

  1. INSTALL MAIN FUSE 
    1. Install the main fuse.
    2. Install the nuts.

      Nut A 

      Torque: 12.5 N*m (127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

      Nut B 

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) 

      Nut C 

      Torque: 5.3 N*m (54 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf)

      *a Nut A *b Nut B
      *c Nut C *d Main fuse
      *e Front wiring harness *f Engine wiring harness
      N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque - -
    3. Install the main fuse cover.
    4. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. FORCED IGNITION ON 

    HINT: 

    • The forced ignition ON procedure forces a power supply to each part when no power is available even after the push button start has been operated. However, the engine cannot be started and the steering cannot be unlocked.
    • In order to perform a forced ignition ON, the Techstream is necessary. If the servicing is being done outside of an Authorized Scion dealership, contact an Authorized Scion dealership for instructions.
    1. Verify that the vehicle is in accordance with the following conditions:
      • Communication between start stop unit and Techstream is enabled.
      • There are no remote transmitters in the vehicle.
      • All the doors, hood, and trunk lid are closed.
    2. Get ECM part number from As-built site.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC2.
    4. Select "Manual Vehicle Entry".
    5. Select the "All other" from Vehicle list.
    6. Input the ECM part number on the following screen.

    7. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the Techstream.
      1. Select the "Body".
      2. Select the "Special Ignition ON".
    8. Perform the procedure according to the directions on the screen.
    9. Delete the session, but keep the ignition ON.
    10. Normal vehicle identification.
