DTC B1D35-86: Hazard Switch Signal Invalid: Procedure

  1. VERIFY MAIN BODY ECU DTCS AGAIN 
    1. Clear the DTC for the main body ECU using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Clear DTCs 

    2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 2 s or more.
    3. Retrieve the main body ECU DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Trouble Codes 

    4. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Result
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    No

    Yes

  2. DETERMINE MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION BY PERFORMING PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION 
    1. Using the Techstream, display the following PIDs for the engine stop and start ECU.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

      • Hazard Switch

      Body Electrical > Smart Start Unit > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Hazard Switch
    2. Does the PID monitoring value switch correctly according to the hazard warning switch operation?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    Yes

    No

  3. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SWITCH 
    1. Inspect the hazard warning switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION

    2. Is the hazard warning switch normal?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    Yes

  4. DETERMINE MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION BY PERFORMING PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION 
    1. Using the Techstream, display the following PIDs for the main body ECU.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

      • Hazard Switch

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Hazard Switch
    2. Does the PID monitoring value switch correctly according to the hazard warning switch operation?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    Yes

  5. VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED 
    1. Clear the DTC for the main body ECU using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Clear DTCs 

    2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 2 s or more.
    3. Retrieve the main body ECU DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Trouble Codes 

    4. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Result
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    Yes

    No

  6. VERIFY IF OTHER DTCS DISPLAYED 
    1. Are any other DTCs displayed?

      Result

      Result
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    Yes 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE DTC TROUBLESHOOTING. 

    1. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

    Result:  2

    No 

    DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED. 

  7. REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 
    1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the main body ECU.

      Refer to REMOVAL

    2. Go to the next step.

      Result

  8. GO TO THE NEXT STEP. (CIRCUIT BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU AND MAIN BODY ECU IS NORMAL)

  9. REPLACE THE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU, THEN GO TO THE NEXT STEP. 
    1. Refer to REMOVAL

  10. REPLACE THE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU, THEN GO TO STEP 5. 
    1. Refer to REMOVAL

  11. REPLACE THE HAZARD WARNING SWITCH, THEN GO TO STEP 5. 
    1. Refer to REMOVAL
