Steering Wheel: Installation: Installation

NOTE:
  • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the negative (-) auxiliary battery cable connected and the ignition switch on (IG).
  • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel with the negative (-) auxiliary battery cable connected and the ignition switch on (IG).
  • Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
  • Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.
  1. INSTALL LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER 
    1. Engage the 2 pins and 4 claws to install the lower steering wheel boss cover to the steering wheel sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Cruise Control System) 
  3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  4. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY  See step  2
  5. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  6. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
  7. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft to install the steering wheel assembly.

      *a Matchmark
    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
  8. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  9. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION
