Front Door Lock: Inspection: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side) 
    1. Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check the operation of the door lock motor.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 4 (L)
      Battery negative (-) → 1 (UL)
      Lock
      Battery positive (+) → 1 (UL)
      Battery negative (-) → 4 (L)
      Unlock

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Measurement Condition Door Lock Condition Specified Condition
      7 (E) - 8 (LSSR) Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (L)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (UL)
      Lock 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (E) - 8 (LSSR) Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (UL)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (L)
      Unlock Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      9 (L) - 7 (E) ON (Door lock set to LOCK) Below 1 Ω
      9 (L) - 7 (E)
      10 (UL) - 7 (E)
      OFF (Free) 10 kΩ or higher
      10 (UL) - 7 (E) ON (Door lock set to UNLOCK) Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check the operation of the door lock motor.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (L)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (UL)
      Lock
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (UL)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (L)
      Unlock

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Measurement Condition Door Lock Condition Specified Condition
      7 (LSSR) - 8 (E) Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (L)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (UL)
      LOCK 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (LSSR) - 8 (E) Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (UL)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (L)
      UNLOCK Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.
