Intake Manifold: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 1
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
    1. Raise the front of the V-bank cover to disengage the 2 pins.

    2. Remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket.
    3. Remove the V-bank cover.

      *2 Hook
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the ventilation hose and vacuum hose.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.
    3. Remove the bolt.
    4. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.
    5. Remove the air cleaner hose assembly.
  5. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK 
    1. Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.

    2. Disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.
    3. Disconnect the throttle body connector.

    4. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.

    5. Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve connector.
    6. Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

    7. Disconnect the 2 heater water hose clamps.

    8. Remove the 2 bolts and throttle body bracket.

    9. Using a clip remover, disengage the wire harness clamp.

    10. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 surge tank stay.
    11. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 surge tank stay.

    12. Remove the 2 nuts.

      Nut
    13. Using an 8 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts and the intake air surge tank.
    14. Remove the gasket.
  6. REMOVE REAR CYLINDER HEAD COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts, 6 bolts and intake manifold.

    2. Remove the 2 gaskets.
