How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage

    11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. BASIC INSPECTION 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (ACC).
    2. Check whether or not the display appears on the display and navigation module display.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Display appears A
      Display does not appear B

      B → Go to step 6 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Check for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output in the first step, try to force output of the navigation system DTCs by simulating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.

      HINT: 

      • Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs as the system stores past DTCs.
      • Refer to the detailed description on the diagnostic screen as necessary. Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION .
      • Check and clear past diagnostic trouble codes. Check the diagnostic trouble code and inspect the area the code indicates. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output A
      DTC is not output B

      B → Go to step 7 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
    1. Find the output code in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
      NOTE:

      The navigation system outputs DTCs for the following systems. When DTCs other than those in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the navigation system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the appropriate system.

      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs for navigation system are output A
      DTCs for audio and visual system (w/ Multi-display) are output B
      DTCs for rear seat entertainment system are output C
      DTCs for side monitor system are output D
      DTCs for intuitive parking assist system are output E
      DTCs for rear view monitor system (w/ Side Monitor System) are output F
      DTCs for wide view front monitor system are output G

      A → GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  

      B → GO TO AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (w/ Navigation System). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      C → GO TO REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      D → GO TO SIDE MONITOR SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      E → GO TO INTUITIVE PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      F → GO TO REAR VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM (w/ Side Monitor System). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      G → GO TO WIDE VIEW FRONT MONITOR SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

  7. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
      Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

      HINT: 

      If the symptom does not recur and no DTC is output, perform the symptom simulation method. Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE .

      B → Go to step 9 

      A: Go to next step 

  8. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .
    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK CIRCUIT 
    1. Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  10. RECHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 

    HINT: 

    After clearing DTCs, recheck for DTCs.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. PERFORM CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
