Spiral Cable: Installation: Installation
- INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 3 claws to install the spiral cable.WARNING:
When replacing the spiral cable with a new one, remove the lock pin before installing the steering wheel assembly.
- Connect the connectors to the spiral cable.NOTE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Attach the 3 claws to install the spiral cable.
- INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
- INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 10
- ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- Rotate the spiral cable counterclockwise slowly by hand until it feels firm.
WARNING:
Do not turn the spiral cable by the airbag wire harness.
- Rotate the spiral cable clockwise approximately 2.5 turns to align the marks.

HINT:
The spiral cable can be rotated approximately 2.5 turns to both the left and right from the center position.
- INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
- Install the steering wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
