Steering Angle Sensor: Installation: Installation

INSTALL SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1 .
  NOTE:
  - Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
  - Do not rotate the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
  - Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
  - Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.
  - Never use the steering angle sensor detached from spiral cable.
  HINT:
  
  The steering angle sensor is a component of the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly. If the steering angle sensor malfunctions, replace the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.
INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 11
INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
INSTALL STEERING PAD . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
INSPECT STEERING PAD . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 14
