Steering Angle Sensor: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Install the spiral cable with steering angle sensor. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1 .
      NOTE:
      • Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
      • Do not rotate the spiral cable with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
      • Make sure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering angle sensor.
      • Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
  2. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
  3. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 10
  4. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
  5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the steering wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  7. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light. Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION .
