Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (POWER SOURCE)
- Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage.
Standard Voltage
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition F5-1 - Body ground 11 to 14 V F6-1 - Body ground 11 to 14 V F7-1 - Body ground 11 to 14 V F8-1 - Body ground 11 to 14 V - Reconnect the fuel injector connectors.
NG: Go to step 6
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (INJECTOR RESISTANCE)
- Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
- Measure the resistance.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition 1 - 2 11.6 to 12.4 fi at 20°C (68°F) - Reconnect the fuel injector connectors.
NG: REPLACE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - ECM)
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
- Measure the resistance.
Standard Resistance (Check for short)
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition F5-2 - #10 (E5-6) Below 1 Ω F6-2 - #20 (E5-S) Below 1 Ω F7-2 - #30 (E5-2) Below 1 Ω F8-2 - #40 (E5-1) Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for open)
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition F5-2 or #10 (E5-6) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher F6-2 - #20 (E5-5) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher F7-2 or #30 (E5-2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher F8-2 or #40 (E5-1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the fuel injector connectors.
- Reconnect the ECM connector.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance.
Standard Resistance (Check for open)
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition E01 (E4-7) - Body ground Below 1 Ω E02 (E4-6) - Body ground Below 1 Ω NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (INJECTION AND VOLUME)
- Check the fuel injector injection and volume (See
INSPECTION
).
NG: REPLACE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- Check the fuel injector injection and volume (See
INSPECTION
).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - IGNITION SWITCH)
- Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
- Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
- Measure the resistance.
Standard Resistance (Check for short)
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition F5-1 - IG2 (I7-6) Below 1 Ω F6-1 - IG2 (I7-6) Below 1 Ω F7-1 - IG2 (I7-6) Below 1 Ω F8-1 - IG2 (I7-6) Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for open)
TESTER CONNECTIONS SPECIFIED CONDITIONS CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition F5-1 or IG2 (I7-6) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher F6-1 or IG2 (I7-6) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher F7-1 or IG2 (I7-6) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher F8-1 or IG2 (I7-6) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the fuel injector connectors.
- Reconnect the ignition switch connector.
