Height Control Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
    1. Inspect the rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH.
    2. Connect 3 dry cell batteries of 1.5 V in series.
    3. Connect the positive (+) end of the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) of the height control sensor and the negative (-) end of the batteries to terminal 1 (SHG). While slowly moving the sensor link up and down, measure the voltage between terminal 2 (SHRL) and terminal 1 (SHG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

Tester Connection Sensor Condition Specified Condition
      2 (SHRL) -1 (SHG) High (45°) 4.4 to 4.6 V
      Normal (0°) 2.3 to 2.6 V
      Low (-45°) 0.4 to 0.6 V

NOTE: Do not apply a voltage of more than 6 V.
    5. Inspect the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH.
    6. Connect 3 dry cell batteries of 1.5 V in series.
    7. Connect the positive (+) end of the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) of the height control sensor and the negative (-) end of the batteries to terminal 1 (SHG). While slowly moving the sensor link up and down, measure the voltage between terminal 2 (SHRR) and terminal 1 (SHG).
    8. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
