Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION ).
  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

    Result 

    RESULT CHART

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output. A
    DTC is output. B

    B : REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    A : Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR 
    1. Check if the skid control ECU connector is securely connected.

    OK: The connector is securely connected. 

    NG : CONNECT CONNECTOR CORRECTLY 

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    A19-29 (HDCS) - Body ground Downhill assist control switch is pushed Below 1 Ω
    Downhill assist control switch is not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    OK : Go to step  6

    NG : Go to Next Step 

  4. INSPECT DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Remove the downhill assist control switch (See DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    1 - 4 Switch is pushed Below 1 Ω
    Switch is not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPLACE DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SW - SKID CONTROL ECU/BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the downhill assist control switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    A19-29 (HDCS) - E31-4 Always Below 1 Ω
    A19-29 (HDCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    E31-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  6. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the combination meter (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

    NG : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK : REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
